4 Days Desert Tour in Morocco from Fes to Marrakech

Explore the beauty of Morocco on an exciting 4-day desert trip from Fes to Marrakech. Start your journey with a visit to Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, and its picturesque cedar forest. Enjoy lunch in Midelt, then continue your journey along the stunning Ziz River until you reach the great Merzouga Desert. Enjoy a camel ride and spend the night in a desert camp in the middle of the desert, watching the magical sunsets and sunrises. Explore the Sahara Desert on a 4×4 drive, then visit the traditional market of Rissani and the fossil city of Erfoud. Continue your journey to visit the Todra Gorges, Dades Gorges and the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Finally, cross the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi n’Tichka Pass until you reach your final destination in Marrakech.

Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert

Then we head south via Imouzzer to Ifrane, a city famous for its cool climate, snow and alpine-style houses. Then we continue to the Cedar Forest where Barbary macaques live and you can feed them while you hike through the forest. Then we head to Midelt. Lunch in the afternoon we head into the Sahara Desert and drive through the Tizi n’Telghmt Pass and along the Ziz River until we reach the great Merzouga Desert. There you can ride camels and cross the sandy desert. You will stop to enjoy a magical sunset on top of the high sand dunes. Then we continue to the luxury camp in the desert where you can enjoy Berber drumming music while dancing around a campfire under a wide open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Day 2 Explore Merzouga area - Khamlia- Merzouga Lake - Erg Chebbi - Palm Grove

Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Erfoud - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

After breakfast, we leave the desert and head to the city of Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalt. We wander through its large souks, which are full of life on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. After that, we continue our journey to Erfoud, and visit a unique fossilized marble workshop. Then we pass through the picturesque palm groves of Trouj and Tingdad to reach the Todgha Gorge, which forms a huge valley carved through the mountains. These gorges are an ideal destination for rock climbing enthusiasts, where you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery and wander through the gorges. After lunch in a local restaurant, we continue our journey to the Dades Valley, via Boumalne Dades, where we discover the unique rock formations of the “monkey fingers”. Finally, we arrive at the hotel for dinner.

Day 4 Dades Valley - Valley of Roses - Palm Forests of Skoura - Ouarzazate - Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

On the last day of our amazing desert trip, we move to Kelaat M’Gouna, where we visit the Valley of the Roses, an inspiration for many during the annual Rose Festival in May. We then pass through the picturesque palm groves of Skoura, before arriving in Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert. There, we will visit the film studios that have seen the filming of famous films, such as Alexander the Great… After that, we move to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, the famous fortified village, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Finally, we continue our journey to Marrakech, where we will drive through the Tizi N’Tichka Gorge and the stunning High Atlas Mountains. There will be photo opportunities in wonderful places and lunch in one of the local restaurants. At the end of our tour, we return to Marrakech. We will transfer you to the airport or your accommodation.
