Explore Morocco on an exhilarating desert tour from Tangier. Over 5 days, we’ll visit some of the best places in Morocco. The tour begins in Tangier, where we’ll visit Cape Spartel and the Cave of Hercules. We’ll then head to the Rif Mountains to explore the blue city of Chefchaouen. We’ll also visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis and Meknes. We’ll ride camels in the Merzouga desert and cruise the Todra and Dades gorges. We’ll visit historic kasbahs and cross the High Atlas Mountains. Finally, we’ll finish the tour in Marrakech.

Day 1: Arrival in Tangier - Chefchaouen

On the first day of your desert trek, we’ll pick you up from your accommodation in Tangier, the beautiful city known as the Bride of the North. We’ll begin exploring the northern city, where we’ll visit the Cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel, located at the junction of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. After lunch, we’ll continue to Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the Rif Mountains, where we’ll enjoy breathtaking views. Overnight at a hotel in Chefchaouen.

Day 2: Chefchaouen - Volubilis Roman Ruins - Meknes - Fes

After breakfast, we’ll begin our exploration of the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen, exploring its narrow alleys. We’ll then visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, featuring beautiful mosaics, columns, and ancient arches. Next, we’ll take a trip to Meknes, the Ismaili capital, where we’ll visit Bab Mansour, the Basin of the Souani Cistern, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Finally, we’ll travel to Fez, where we’ll spend the night in a luxurious riad.

Day 3: Fez - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we’ll head south to Ifrane, known for its snow and Alpine architecture. We’ll visit the Cedar Forest, home to Barbary macaques, and then continue to Midelt for lunch. Next, we’ll pass through the Tizi n’Telghemt Pass and along the Ziz Valley, stopping to enjoy the breathtaking views. In the evening, we’ll reach the Great Merzouga Desert, where we’ll ride camels across the sandy desert. We’ll enjoy the sunset on top of a high sand dune, then drive to the campsite to enjoy Berber drumming and dancing around a campfire.

Jour 4 : Désert de Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Gorges du Toud Dra - Vallée du Dadès

Wake up early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, we will leave the desert and drive to Rissani, the ancient capital of the Tafilalt region. We will visit the grand souk of Rissani, held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Next, we will continue to Erfoud, where we will visit a petrified marble workshop. We will then drive through the palm groves of Trouj and Tinejdad to reach the Todri Gorge, the channel of the Todri River through the mountains. We will enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the gorge. Free time for lunch, then we will continue to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, where we will admire unique rock formations. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 Dades Valley - Valley of Roses - Palm Groves of Skoura - Ouarzazate - Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou - Telouet. High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey to Kelaat M’Gouna to explore the Valley of the Roses, where the annual Rose Festival is held in May. We’ll pass through the palm groves of Skoura and head to the Kasbah of Amerdhil. Next, we’ll reach Ouarzazate, where we’ll visit the film studios that produced famous films, the Kasbah of Taourirt, and the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, which has been featured in numerous films and TV series. We’ll also visit the Kasbah of Telouet before continuing our journey to Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains. We’ll enjoy lunch and take photos at iconic locations. Finally, we’ll arrive at your riad accommodation in Marrakech, bringing our five-day tour of Morocco to a close.
